That's funny. When shopping for a tractor I thought the 2520 was too much tractor for me. The second I hopped on the 2520 in the dealers lot she said no that looks like a real tractor. I think she was right :)

If the boss has already approved it, it seems it's time to buy the 2720. It's only $150/year if you keep it for 10 years. Do you need the extra horsepower? Probably not, but I've always been of the belief that a little too much is better than a little too little. When I was shopping for my last tractor I gave up on the 10 more horsepower because of another $6k. Funny thing is: as I sit here typing I almost wish I had bitten the bullet and spent the extra money. I don't know anyone that has ever regretted more horsepower, but I have seen a lot of used tractors sold because someone bought too little.

I suggested the 2720 because the extra pto hp can be very helpful. That is a substancial increase in power for a little tractor and will really help with things like rototillers and mowers.
