I would not want to claim it as "gospel" but it may have something to do with the location of the first store so many moons ago. If that's the case then it could have been on Princess Street in Winnipeg but that's just a long shot guess on my part.

You beat me to it! :)

I have two torque wrenches from there - 1/2" and 3/8 I believe. Good buys for the few times I need them. Also have a torque stick kit for my impact wrench from there. Also a good buy.

it actually started when the guy who started the company bought a tow truck and started the princess auto and wrecking company. He opened a store to sell the parts he salvaged, and he then started selling other things. Thats how it all got started. gotta love wikipedia.

For some reason they are allergic to Quebec as we don't have a branch but I have purchased via mail order a few times and have been satisfied.
Hydraulic components, pulleys belts sort of stuff.
Also liked their surplus items.

Another great item I got there was a army surplus ammo box, I think it was a 7.62. Makes a great waterproof tool box.

I wait for anything I want to go on sale -- otherwise the prices are mostly no great deal. I bought a three inch semi trash pump there about five years ago on clearance for about $150 -- it has been great.

As a person who has done business in Quebec, how many reasons would you like?

My garage is a princess auto show room 90% of my tools are princess auto with no problems. Floor creeper, the best multimeter I have ever owned, chop saw, powerfist welder, victor torch set, pallet forks for my FEL, three point bale fork, three point disc, 99% of my hand tools and air tools and many more things. I visit my local store 3 times a week and the entire staff knows me on a first name basis. Awesome customer service and products at a pretty reasonable price.

Forgot about the creeper. I have that too.

I am thinking of getting the 1500 lb ATV lift on for $79.99, anyone have one?

They sure don't have the 3pt and compact tractor selection that they had in the past. I would lope pallet forks for my 2520.

Mine has a decent selection of either bucket mount or three point pallet forks, bucket mount or three point bale spear, three point snow blower, three point disc, drag harrow, three point middle buster and more.

Not in Edmonton or in the catalog. I wish.

Mine is the red deer store, they said its not in the catalog cause normally these are special order items but they decided to carry some in stock to promote them. The pal hydraulics section has a small print out catalog at their desk that shows all the tractor attachments they have, just had to ask to look at it.

The Ottawa store had some three point attachments that they cleared out last year (carryall, discs, cement mixer, bale forks etc) They were pretty cheap and I only knew about them because of this forum! Not sure if they will still order them but I will ask next time I go in

Next time I go in I will see if I can get a copy of that book and if so I will scan it and if anyone wants I can post or send them a copy cause it has ordering numbers so princess auto can directly type it into their system.

I have a few PA tools also, some I thought were junk and chucked them and most are of good quality.
Because of PA's location to me 3hr drive there and back I get most of my tools through crappy tire (maximum and mastercraft). Iam pretty rough on tools and have broken a few sockets that crappy tire replaced with NO argument on just how did you manage to break that?
I also burnt out the motor on a table saw from crappy tire wich they replaced with a better one because the one that I toasted was no longer in thier system.
I also have UNITOOL sockets and torque wrenches that I got through Rafuse auto in Bridgewater. They (the sockets), are very heavey and solid, also they are larger than your average sockets (25mm and bigger).
I imagine that if I was closer to PA I would shop there more often, after all every once in a while they put the wood splitters on and Iam getting old enough now that when it comes time to split firewood that maul I have is really starting to look like it just does not want to play anymore
It really dosent matter where you get your tools as long as work as designed:D

I've had decent luck with the tools I've bought there... but the guys are right, the prices aren't as sharp as they used to be.

Well next week I am making a princess auto run, I probably wont get much, only if it is a real good deal. Last time, I actually went into princess, and left with out buying anything!

has anyone tried the welding magnets? I think they would be really useful for fit up, but I am not sure how good they are.
