I clicked on Maquest, and it says I live at the refreshment stand at the high school football field about 1000ft behind our house. Misinformation is good. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I am not trying to add to your paranoia here, but by the information given on your profile, full name, town and state. You can go to the web with this information and get all of the information about the property you own, the date purchased, price paid, taxes etc. This is all public information and with the information age here, it is on the web and available to all. Examples of this would be a 30 by 80 pole barn built in 1990. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Most of this information is available on the web if you know where to look for it. Information in your profile should be limited to a first name only as the last name gives a person access to all sorts of additional informmation.

Not all ares of the country have the information available, some have more,some less, some you need an address to begin with, some just a name.

If you try to get to my house using Mapquest, it will send you through the woods for 10 miles. The only problem is that after the first mile, the road becomes mud and ruts. If you continue, which is unlikely, you will eventually get to the stream and the bridge was washed out more years ago than I can remember. More than once someone coming to visit doesn't follow our directions and uses Mapquest to their detrement... The fellow at AAA towing just shakes his head and winches them out....

That is why we elected to have an unlisted phone number when we moved here. As stated already, this capability has existed for years and the information is public information.

This is not a new google feature, Its been around for almost a year. The technology is also not new, there have been reverse directories for at least 20 years. Most libraries have them.

I typed in my phone number and it found the ad that I had placed in the TBN Classifieds.... In this case, I was able to delete the ad because the tractor sold, but with some sites, the information will stay forever. For this reason, I no longer put a telephone number in the ad. Google will even pick out your e mail address...
