Private cell phone service

My internet is called Accel Internet Service and it uses a Wireless Setup to connectme and the internet, not satellite, but just antenna to antenna, and I'm lucky enough to have a direct line of sight to one of their tower, not sure where it is though.
All I can say is for me, I found the Wireless Internet to work more than adequately.

As far as Internet over my Cell Phone, the phone is always hunting for my WiFi Signal... AND I only recently changed over to Verizon and it su..., oh I shouldn't say that here... ! Let's say that Verizon is the worse Cell Phone Service I have ever used.

FIOS, isn't that a hardwire TV/Phone/Internet Service ? Was suppose to be a good service, but where I am located I am lucky to have DirecTV.

Back to Cell Service, I called Verizon, told them about my bad Cell service at my house, just short of no signal and can't hold a conversation with anyone.
They immediately sent me a VIOP Cell Antenna/Interface. "VOIP" = Voice Over Internet ?????, forgot the last word.
This will allow THEM to use my Internet Service to give me Cell Service, am I going to get a rebate for this (?).
At this moment I don't have a lot of choice if the Wife and I want to have decent service, BUT I will be changing to AT&T as soon as I can.

The OP "specifically" stated Private "CELL". Maybe miscommunication or misunderstanding which is easy given the murky nature of the whole wireless tech revolution, but some communication AP that uses the Internet is NOT CELL, although the cell site is providing data. But in this case, there is no cell site to provide that data. YES, I might have heard of skype.

I have an Engenius long range phone system that I had put an antenna about 75 feet atop a tower that I figure would give me a private long range cordless phone out to about 20KM but abandoned the project, when Canada wide, flat rate cell calling became available. Kind of sad the equipment is just sitting here unused, and I never got to try it.

I don't think they are doing much with Microcells (mini cell towers that connect to internet).. There are several very good choices to get phone on internet.

enable wifi calling if your phone and plan allow it,
obtain google voice number and install VoIP box (just a small box that connects to the internet and provides a phone jack with dial tone)
obtain google voice number and enable it for use on your cell phone (then you can call when you are connected to internet)

and I'm sure there are other options.

And if WiFi calling will work for you in the house but you still don't have cell signal outside, it is easy enough to add a couple additional high power Access Points to your network (either indoor or outdoor) to cover the area you need.

I just found out I will have FIOS available at my house starting in May. There is no cell phone service at my house, so I would like to do a low power cell tower using my internet. Has anyone ever done anything like that? There's plenty of internet over a cell signal, but I can't find anything about a cell signal powered by internet.

That's not quite my take on his question. I interpreted it as he wants some kind of communication via cell phone regardless of how it is accomplished. There is some confusion as to what he currently has access to "There is no cell phone service at my house" but then "There's plenty of internet over a cell signal", so I take it that he can get internet (how ever that happens), but without internet his phone doesn't work, so the answer seems to be to use the internet to provide the connection to the rest of the world. This way his cell phone will work and he won't need to know if he's using a cell signal or the internet.

I agree. It does get convoluted for sure. Try explaining that to someone who doesn't understand the technology at all. I always got a kick out of one of those Black G3 Handsets, that you can buy and plug into your "device".

This is very simple but becoming very convoluted by those with uninformed opinions. [I don’t intend to be offensive, so don’t get offended].

Once you have FIOS, connect your phone to your home WiFi network, and enable WiFi calling. Problem solved. No extra equipment needed, no extra expense.

Need WiFi calling outside? Install a weatherproof WiFi access point on the exterior of your house.

With WiFi calling available now, I don’t understand why microcells are still even a thing. Doesn’t surprise me that cell companies are finally giving them away for free.

The shop is about 200 ft. from the house, and has metal siding. I'm planning to direct bury ethernet and set up a separate router out there. I don't know if I need one with decent range, or two very low range units. I know nothing about it. Total noob.

I only bought a cell phone because my wife wanted to call me when I was not home. I can't see how we could interfere with anyone. You can't get any kind of cell signal where I live. With a $300 Wilson signal amp, we get enough signal to text, but not enough to carry a voice signal.
