Is it possible to mount a pro deck from a ZD28 to a bx2200. I find the pro deck to be a better deck but the dealer says they only come on the Zds. Any one out there ever made the switch?

I don't mean to high jack your message but it along the same lines of questioning: has anyone mounted a 72" deck on the bx? They seem to have plenty of power and never strain with a 60" deck.

I think it's because there's not enough room between the front and rear wheels. The 72" deck would be wider from front to rear than the 60" deck.

Canadianjoe, what would be the advantage to having the pro deck?

I think that will be on the newer series of BX coming out in April or May of next year.

I made a slight mistake in my first post, it should have read zd21. THe reason we want the pro deck on the BX is because it is a far better deck.

The pro series deck was mainly developed for the ZD series mowers. It has a much higher blade tip speed and the deck is designed for a much greater vacuum to pull the grass up into the deck and cut it off while traveling at higher ground speeds.
I really don't think you would get much benefit by using one of these on a BX other than the heavier steel.
It does work quite well on a ZD mower though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We cut grass with both the ZD and BX. The pro deck does a far better job, like you said jlbota the pro "has a much higher blade tip speed and the deck is designed for a much greater vacuum to pull the grass up into the deck and cut it off while traveling at higher ground speeds." The BX is more versatile then the ZD, adding the pro deck would make it the perfect tractor. If I take a day off and the boss cuts grass I can tell what mower he used.

If you already own one of each, then I am certain that you could do some welding to make it fit using both for measurements. The only problem that I would see is if the gear box isn't in the same location or the gear box turns in a different rotation as the BX. When necessity is a must, there are people that can make just about anything work for a new purpose. Take a look at the US built cars of the 1950's that are still on the roads of Cuba using parts from many European and Pacific Rim country automobiles. Necessity, the mother of invention. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
