John Deere 3320
Hello all;

I am a new poster to the group so please forgive any protocol misgivings. I have a 3320 with a 448 hoe that I purchased about 6 months ago. I recently removed the 448 hoe. It came off in about 5 minutes...no problem. I went to install it yesterday and the rockshaft arms only raise the hoe to a level about 6 inches short of being able to slide in the pins. Repeated re-aligning and so forth did not help matters. The ground is "almost" level. My dealer said that the Rockshaft control valve linkage might be the culprit. I'm not sure because with the hoe off the back the arms raise up about 6-8 inches higher. It's almost like the tractor does not have the power to lift the hoe into position. Any ideas/thoughts would really be appreciated.

Have you adjusted your rockshaft rate of drop? You might try decreasing the rate of drop and see if that puts some mustard back in the rockshaft.

First things first,,, are all hydraulic fluids etc up to spec?

If so, there is an adjustment for the 3ph that stops it at a certain point. I can't imagine the hydraulics not having enough power to lift just the backhoe... so this adjustment may be out of whack. It may be along the left side of the transmission, above the rear axle. (I'm thinking it's similar to the older 10 series)
Maybe somebody with one can look and verify that.
If that's where it is, try adjusting the nut on the threaded rod and see if you get more or less lift... and go from there.
Let us know how you make out... and we can look further if we need to..
