The problem I had with mine the first time was the pulley above the deck would just spin. Even with blocks underneath the pulley above would spin. You can buy a tool to lock the pulleys above. I did not buy that tool and can't even remember the name of it. However, I did put a small block between the pulley and belt, a block underneath and then was able to take off. That was the only way I could them off. So if using any wrench and not getting anyplace make sure it is not just spinning.

It's called a spanner wrench. I went thru the same issue a couple years back. Called the dealer to inquire about the spanner wrench. He found it on his computer system & happily reported that they had never sold one:rolleyes: . Said to use an impact wrench. I picked up a "better" Cambell Hausfield rated at 400 ft lbs at Wally world for $75. It easily removed the bolts.

As others have said - use WD40 or your favorite penetrating oil - let them soak & have at it with the impact wrench again.

You might try boosting your pressure to max vs the "standard" 90 psi - the impact wrench will survive it, just don't make it a habit...

Sent you a private post - don't want to appear as if I'm advertising. Muhammed? Can I say where I got it?

Thanks,

Jim

We had an 1100 ford with a ford rear finish mower. The blades on it were LEFT HAND threads. I always got mixed up on it, but I always got them off. Used to use blocks of wood, and block all three blades, take one off, install new one. I kept two sets of blades because it was nearly impossible to take all three blades off at the same time due to the spindles turning. I then bought an impact wrench, and it would spin the bolts off with no blocks installed.

I think you either need more air pressure , at least a 120 lbs or a better impact if you have the air pressure , mine easily takes off my dad's 914 blades .

Thanks, Hazmat. In that case, then, I got it from greattoolspecials.com for $139.

Last year I had problems getting my blades off. I used bolt buster, WD40, heat and an impact hammer. Even with a 150 psi compressor wasn't getting the last bolt off. My friend told me it isn't neccassarily the impact hammers rating but how much air is getting in. I bought a wider hose and voila, the bolt came off. (Not sure if working on it off an on got it or the wider hose). But at least it's something to think about.
