problem using a one row cultivator

I have a ts1910 (Bolens) Primarily I use it with a finish mower and occassionaly to pull a small drag around. I tried using a one row cultivator on the 3 pt, but one side always digs in and one side just rides along the top. It's the one row cultivator TSC sells. I've tried adjusting the top link, leveling the piece, and using several variations of check chains. Can anyone advise if there is a good way to use this attachement?
Has anyone used this attachment with sucess?

We used to use a one row cultivator for our garden all the time and it was one of the most useful tools. I assume what you are talking about has 3 shovel arms on each side ? We planted our rows wide enough to get the tractor (a ford 641) thru. Barely lower it and go slow to scratch the surface, or put it down deeper and go faster if you wanted to throw dirt up to the plants and hill them or cover weeds. We would even use ours to cover our potatoes when planting...eg dig a trench with a middle buster, put the potatoes in the row, then hook on the cultivator and cover the row....being careful to go slow and not too deep . Anyhow, I can't think what your issue is....I assume the angle of the shovels are the same on each side? Do you have down draft control on your tractor? If the shovels are angled on one side they may be causing it to ride up ? That's the only thing I can think of.

A picture might help with some suggestions.

I can remember adding weight to the cultivator, but that was not the best solution. Each shovel should penetrate the ground if adjusted right.

Do you see any difference in the shovel angles one side from the other?

Does your tractor have a leveling box on one of the lower lift arms?

All good suggestions. The shovels are all angled the same and it is level. I'm not sure what a down draft control is so I don't know if I have one. I tried the cultivator out today by just lowering it slightly and adding a more rigid turnbuckle type check system. This seemed to even it out and it did a passable job. I appreciate the advice. Any further advice on a down draft would be interesting. Thanks to all.
