Hi all,

My L3130HST has a problem that I can't figure out. Don't know if I'm missing something obvious. Here's the deal. Bought the tractor with a loader and the Kubota backhoe (4690). For the first time this weekend, I went to take off the backhoe, which went OK. But my 3 point hitch does not lift at all. I opened, then closed the control valve under the seat several times, and cycled the draft control lever for the 3 point hitch, but the arms do not move. They are in the lowest position. The only other info I can offer, is that the tractor was purchased with one set of dealer installed remotes on the rear. Perhaps something went wrong during the installation. I will be calling the dealer later for tips, but I purchased from out of state, so I'm looking for any help I can get here.

Thanks

If it is any comfort, I know that my NH has a "diverter" valve on the manifold block that has to be in one of two postitions depending on the hydraulic outlets. It's use is illustrated in my owner's manual (not just the service manual.)

Perhaps it's just one of the those types of adjustments.

Did you get it with the hoe attached, ready to go? My guess would be that if you did then there is a diverter valve to turn.

My 3pt will not work if I have the valve open for the remote.

CTyler,

Not sure what you mean about the valve to the remote. Do you mean the lever projecting from the fender. Is there a separate valve to allow oil to go to the remote that can be opened or closed. I looked on my L30, but honestly I'm not really sure what I'm looking at.

If anyone can tell me where there would be a remote valve to turn the 3pt hitch on/off it would be appreciated. To answer previous posts, yes the tractor was bought and delivered with a backhoe, but the backhoe has it's own hydraulic pump and system. Perhaps some valve got turned off anyway by the dealer? I don't know.

On the right hand side there are three slots where you can have up to three levers(valves) for remote items. I have one installed for my backhoe to run off the tractor hydraulics. If the lever is moved forward to open the valve for backhoe work the 3pt will not raise.

Do you have anything installed in those slots?

Yes, I have 1 handle poking up through those three slots, for the 1 remote rear valve. I tried raising the 3 pt hitch with the remote in the middle position, as well as either forward or back on the remote valve and nothing.

I just spoke with the service technician at the dealer where purchased. They said there is a shut off valve on the hydraulic manifold right under the right side floor board. They said there is a slotted screw that needs to be turned 90 or 180 degrees, that will let oil got the rear of the tractor. They said they shut the oil off to the rear of the tractor when mounting the type of backhoe I have. I will look tonight, if I have time, but it sounds like I know what my problem is. Will report back tommorow or wednesday after I check it out.

Thanks again all for your help.

I believe I would be a little PO'ed if my dealer had shut off the hydraulics to the 3pt and not explained that in advance to me. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I would also be interested in why that is required if the backhoe has its own hydraulics.

Ok,

Here's an update. I looked for and could not find a valve as the dealer described over the phone. Again, remember I purchased out of state, approx 400 miles away, so right now I'm trying to resolve this over the phone, with me doing the work. I am a competent mechanic, but never owned or worked on a tractor before.

So yesterday the dealer faxed me a technical service bulletin which requires the removal of an inline strainer or filter for the rear hydraulics. This affects certian serial numbers of the L30 series tractors. I performed the service as required last night, and still not hydraulics to the rear of the tractor. The screen removed was approx 50-60% obstructed with metal filings/drillings. Mind you this is a small screen, about 3/8" diameter, so it doesn't take much to obstruct it, but this has not solved my problem yet.

I'm about to call the dealer service department now.

Hmmm...Well that screen was going to be my next suggestion cause I had the same problem. My 3pt stopped working(lifting) unless I reved the RPM's up to 2700. Then it slowly started to lift. It kinda worked it way through it though after about 20 min of screwing with it.
