CTyler,

I suspect that I have a chip or piece of debris which has jammed up somewhere, preventing the valve from shifting or oil from flowing. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will work loose, otherwise I will most likely have to pay to have it hauled to a dealer, and sit for a few weeks till it gets fixed.

Thanks for the help.

Loughman, I've got a 3130 with the BH90 backhoe. When I remove the backhoe I have to connect the male and female hydraulic couplers together or the 3 point will not raise. If you are standing at the back of your tractor looking forward the hoses are on the upper right hand side. I know that you have a different backhoe that uses it's own pump, and most likely your tractor does not have these hoses plumbed to the back, but I'd hate to see you have to ship your tractor back if this was the problem. I was also thinking that if your backhoe is a 3 point mount wouldn't there be a shut off/safety valve that would shut off the hydraulics to the 3 point so you couldn't accidentally bump the lever and raise the 3 point while the backhoe was attached? I wish I could be more help, but that's all I could come up with. I hope you get it figured out before you have to ship the tractor back.

Based on several discussions with the service department at the dealer where purchased, I summarize as follows:

There is no shut off or diverter valve on L30 series tractors. There is a screen, which is required to be removed on certain serial number tractors. Kubota has issued a TSB for this. My tractor fell in the serial number range. I found and removed the screen.

Kubota service in Georgia, who my service tech has spoken with says that the tank port and the power beyond port hoses on the hydraulic block under the right floorboard of the tractor may be swapped. They say if these hoses are swapped, the loader will work fine (mine does) but you will not get oil flow to the back of the tractor, which I don't. I'm at work and they faxed me the page from the service manual, and from memory, I would say they are correct. I will check this evening, and if swapped, correct. Hopefully that will resolve my problem.

Also, I do not have the hydraulic couplers that hntr refers to. I have a set of couplings, but they are for a rear remote valve, and not "live", which I think is what you have for the BH90 hoe.

Thanks all, will post with further updates

Problem resolved.

It turns out two of the hydraulic hoses for the front loader, where they connect to the manifold block under the right fender were swapped. This apparently causes the loader to work fine, but diverts hydraulics from the rear of the tractor.

I swapped the hoses per the tech manual, now everything works fine.

Thanks again all.

Way to go loughman! I'm glad you got your dealer's problem figured out. I hope he's sending you some tubes of grease on the house, Dang there's a lot of fittings on these little tractors /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Sounds like it's time to mark those hoses so the problem doesn't occur again. Isn't there a color coded "tie wrap looking" hose labeler? I think I recall seeing something like that before.

icat,

The hoses that were swapped, were connected by the dealer when the mounted the loader on the tractor. These hoses are not normally disconnected, they should stay connected until they have to be replaced. I know I won't switch the hoses, so I won't be marking anything. If I had to replace a hose, then maybe I would mark them, or just change out one at a time.
