Problem With New Yanmar??

I think this is becoming absurd.

I've told travis a number of times to seek support from his dealer directly. But now they've got to defend themselves (even from him) and others while trying to support him which alone seems to be tough enough.

since when did we want this to become a comparision of dealers? Who cares...

Travis, pick up the phone and call the rco guys, give them a chance to help. What's happening here is just negative and counter-productive, probably for everyone ('cept those that like a good soap opera...)....

What should be stated here is "this is just an opinion".

In my opinion it's very productive. Especially for anyone looking to buy a VET RECON.

This is getting so old! Let me repeat my earlier post: Oh and now it's up to 19 pages.

Default Re: Problem With New Yanmar??
Well Travis, no intent to offend or anything but you seem to be acting a bit hard headed on this subject. For about 16 pages, most advised against the "recon" and you bought it anyway, and continue to defend them. Then most advise that you use a bit smaller equip and you say no way, you'll use what you have. Well if you have a 40 hp mahindra then a 24 horse yanmar is probably a nice smaller tractor to have. If you need to bush hog, use the bigger tractor. The five foot brush cutter is too big for a 2000 to handle efficently. You can go faster with a four, and in an hour actually mow more. I hope you get your problems worked out but honestly it's beginning to sound like a broken record. You know whats wrong, live with it or get it fixed! Again, no intent to offend, but face reality here.

Where are you getting that information from. I have never even heard of any such thing. Antifreeze is antifreeze, diesel or gas.

Sorry.. but it isn't. If you see an AF that says it is 'diesel ready'.. check the list of ingrediants. it most likely has a cavitation and electrolysis inhibitor.

Some systems that use a coolant filter are precharged with this addative.. otheres have to add it by volume and check with a test strip. I have to buy an addative called FW-15 from CNH for my big diesel ford 5000 and NH 7610s

Wayne,

I DID NOT TELL you to apologize to him....That would be wrong of me......I simply stated, with no intentions of stepping on your toes, that I THINK you owe him an apollogy, and I still do think that.

Yes, John IS very capable of defending himself, and like you, defending yall's businesses...........I wanted to address your post BEFORE it got blown out of proportion.......Thats all.....

Mr. Wayne,

What do you have against RCO tractor? Is it in old posts here on TBN? If so, I want to read them...... WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS?

I said it before and here it is again........I rate your business and rco's business the same................Both are honest people, and Both stand behind their tractors 100%.................I almost bought from you Mr. Wayne, along with Mr. Danny Parker and Mr. Stan Hoye but I got a better deal/price from rco......Thats all........Maybe next time I'll get a better deal from you, IF you still want my business............I don't always go the cheaper route.........This time I had no choice....I was/is low on money and needed a dependable tractor.

Travis

Travis, I gave you a price on a YM2610 W/ROPS, Canopy, 5' United Box Blade,16x18 ( 400 ) United Disk, and a 5' Kodiak Rotary Cutter Delivered To Zip 70754, That's a far cry from a YM2000, maybe that's why you got a better deal/price.

Something else we weren't told.

Bottom line is, Travis, let RCO fix your tractor. Sounds like they are going to do that. If you bought a tractor that is too small, that isn't their fault. Seems to me though that the YM2000 is a good size to have considering you already have a much larger tractor. Reading through this thread everyday has gotten confusing for me. Seems like in the morning you don't like/want the tractor then come afternoon you suddenly are happy with it. That makes it hard to be helpful, we don't know what to say anymore. I think once the tractor is fixed you will be happy with it. At least I hope you are. Getting smaller mowers, if you decide to do that, will give you the advantage of being able to use it in places your Mahindra can't go.

As for the other dealers you can't really expect them to step on RCO's toes. Your warranty is with them. If you had no warranty or for some reason didn't want to involve RCO with fixing the problem, then you might expect help from the other dealers. I don't think they owe anyone an apology. I bought my tractor from an importer rather than a dealer (with no warranty) and because of that I can't expect a large amount of support from them. They did call me back to try to help me with the problem I had with my loader. The other dealers, especially Wayne, have been very helpful to me with advice or answering questions I've had about operating, attachments, etc. But, if I had a warranty I would expect my dealer to be involved first and foremost. I chose to become involved with the dealers on this forum because they are Yanmar dealers and they know these tractors. I'm sure RCO knows their tractors too and you should always go to your dealer first with problems and allow them the opportunity to help you.

I honestly wish you the best with your tractor and I hope nothing I've said has offended, as that was not my intent.

hi roxynoodle,

Well, you've put pretty eloquently what Ive been trying to say afterall. Thanks for the well worded perspective.

edie and dick, the point i'm making is that this whole thread is inconclusive, there is no method to the troubleshooting, and a lot of it is emotion driven (at least seems to be)... However, if you choose to use this as criteria from which to make decisions, so be it, you guys are the experts.... LOL... but to me, that's just nutty!!!

..LOL...
