I have dumped Norton from my computer, and now, I can't get the Smilies or the spell checker to work. Anyone have any idea as to what setting might have been changed to effect this problem. Thanks Dusty

Did you doble check you editor interface under edit options. My smilies never worked until just a few days ago and I found I had to have the enhanced option selected. Maybe when you un-installed Norton it changed that settings from a shared file. Norton uses a lot of shared files.

Just a suggestion, that is all.

I checked this in "Home" on the website, and nothing has changed there. I know that it has to be somewhere in IE settings, but I don't know where to look. I have checked my usage on other websites, and the problem is universal, so I know it must be in one of my computer settings. Just which one, I don't know. Nothing outside of the white box will work for me. Thanks for the suggestion... Dusty

Simple fix, start using Mozilla Firefox. More user friendly, more secure, easier to use than IE and best of all it's free! You might consider giving it a try. It might not only fix your problem but you might just like it better.

Please don't forget this, from what I have heard if you leave IE and go to Firefox? ya can't go back to IE.
Food for thought

Just found out that something has disabled System Restore. Norton is worse than any Virus out there.

Jim,

Not looking for to bump heads with anyone. I just know that your statement of not going back is not my experience. See pic attached shows both programs running side by side.

I would also have to disagree. I have both on all of my computers. From time to time I also run both programs at the same time when launching web pages to my website to make sure they load correctly. In several years of use I have never seen any problem. Firefox is just a better all around program.
