procedure to change hydraulic fluid 4410

i see there are 2 hydraulic filters too? according to the manual that is.

i assume i should change both? and also the rockshaft filter, while i'm at it?

The 4x00s have only one HST/hyd filter. There is an adapter with a small screen
inside it on the power beyond pipe between the AUX valves and the 3-pt
cylinder valve. On both 4300s I have had, this screen had been pushed aside
by the fluid flow, so it did nothing. I do not know what upgrades the 4x10
tractors have in this area.

Can you change any or both hdy filters with out changing the hdy oil on a jd 4410

Have read here on TBN that putting a shop vacuum hose on the filler hole will keep most oil from draining out when removing the filter and putting on new one.
Have not done that so no experience.

I am going to give a qualified 'yes' to that. Again, I have never got my hands (or wrenches) on a 4x10; only 4x00s. Maybe the same; maybe not.

The spin-on filter underneath the middle of the tractor will likely come off without a large loss of oil, but I have never done it with a full sump. If your 4310 has the inline filter on the hardline under the seat, then no problem with that one.

There is a hydraulic filter and a hydrostatic filter. There is also a screen in the rear sump. You definitely need to drain the oil for the screen. I recommend cleaning the screen. Both I have done, the screen was filthy. You need to order the gasket for it. If you dont know the last time it was cleaned then you should do it. It is on the suction side to the pump so can cause problems if it gets clogged.

Yes, there is a suction filter, and I agree it should be cleaned. On both 4300s I had, I also removed the PTO cover in the rear to full empty the sump. There was a lot of debris in there, primarily from wear and breakage of the PTO clutch and brake.

If you get any water contamination, cleaning the suction screen is critical as the boogers that build up there resist fluid flow. I am working on a Kubota now that had significant amounts of water get in.

Yes. I was surprised how much shiny and black stuff was in there when I removed the rear cover. And no damage or repairs, just preventative cleaning.
