It used to frustrate me but this is the internet so who knows if bio info is even correct.

I can't remember if I filled mine out, I should check. I don't usually include that I'm a mechanical engineer because of my professional ethics. I'm sure doctors are the same, we aren't supposed to dispense engineering advise for free and we are liable for any we do dispense. Luckily you guys are mostly in the US and have no way to sue me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif as I'm not licensed to practice there!

It is really kind of a catch, I took engineering because I like hands on projects and helpings others. Charging the required minimum rates puts the price of my services above people who I'd like to help. They don't tell you about all this until your last year of school!

All jokes aside, I'm guessing most of us know someone that if given the advice from a 'trusted source" that drinking a quart of paint thinner would cure a common cold, they would be away to the hardware store in a flash.

The thing about giving advice is if it's sound, you can help someone with the benefit of your knowledge. If it's poor advice and things go bad, then you both have to live with it.
