Propane Contract Prices: This Year vs Last Year?

Here in central Iowa, last year my propane contract rate for 2013-2014 was $1.359/gallon. This year the contract rate for 2014-2015 went up to $1.659/gallon. (plus a couple cents hazmat/other fee and 1% county sales tax)

Anyone else?

Summer fill last year was 1.19 but went up to nearly $4 during the winter. Right now we are at 1.25 for summer fill.

Fix rate for whole Winter (unless of course they invoke the mysterious "emergency clause" again)

It,s $1.90 here for pre buy.Glad I use just 400 gal.per year.I had our 500 gal. topped off in early july for $1.40 per gallon.I burn wood pellets to heat with.Happy to say I have saved a bundle of $$$ the last 10 years burning the wood pellets verses propane.

I buy one time per year. I have 1000 gallon tank that I own plus 500 tank leased. Always try to buy in July. After last years hard winter I was very close to running out ( both tanks on 0% ). They started at $2.39 I ended up paying $ 1.75. There is a web site propaneprices.com that might be worth checking I do.

I bought a 500 gallon tank a few weeks back (yet to be installed) & have a 500 gallon rental that still has about 160 gallons in it. The tank installed and filled ran me 1600 bucks

thank was 700 or so with taxes and costs as a used unit refurbished.) Gas was 1.35 or 40 or something which should last 2 or so winters for my place unless I do the addition I want & add propane heat to it.

Last winter's pre-pay price was 1.499/gal (which was honored by the supplier, although they limited deliveries to 200 gallons during the crisis).
This winter's pre-pay price is 1.780/gallon if by cash/check, 1.83 by credit card.

as a non user of propane, I use firewood that I cut and split. Has propane increased in price as more people use it? And does it jump in price along with gasoline like oil does?
