Propane Contract Prices: This Year vs Last Year?

I checked today for prices with the two companies we've done business with. I own a 500gal propane tank and two 275gal oil tanks. Fill up on both lasts us the winter. Cash price.

I buy retail, so my prices are twice what most of y'all pay. Have you seen this site that shows the last quarter's prices?

U.S. Weekly Heating Oil and Propane Prices (October - March)

7/28 I paid 2.759/gal for 250 gal delivered to my remote location. I have a 1000 gal tank, but rarely burn 300gal. The reserve is for running the 20KW generator when power is out for extended periods of time.

I use a lot (Wisconsin heating for house and shop, hot water, stove top and fireplace) but all at "retail". Your price might reflect low usage and remote location. Here we are on a scheduled delivery route so they can hit a bunch of houses at the same time. Our price is also influenced by corn drying needs. Reports are that the crop is way behind schedule because it got into the ground late (cold weather) and needs some warm days (cold weather). That would say we will be short again. Balance that with not as much corn in the ground this year because the prices have normalized from those manipulated $7+/bu rates and we are getting back to $4-5/bu for various reasons not the least of which is the fuel ethanol hoax is being shredded daily.
