Yeah it's crazy. It should be going down this time of year but it's still on the increase.

That's awful.

We just got our semi-annual fill-up. Two-hundred-twenty-six gallons at $2.20 a gallon. I thought that was bad.

Being in Florida, can I ask what you use the LP for?

Good question, we use it for cooking, water heater and it don't need a generator to run, we have 2 homes and I love our gas and we use city/natural gas in the other home, the prices, I hate but it's like anything else, we have to have it and wouldn't you know, I just spent almost $500 on a new water heater.

Speaking of Propane, for the folks thats uses it in their homes, do you own or pay rent for the tank?

We filled our 500 gal tank last month for $2.20/gal. Our tank is leased from the propane company.

If you put in a direct vent water heater (not a gravity vent) I hope you at least considered a continuous hot water heater. I don't think that continuous hot water heaters are the "cure all", however for the price difference betweent the two (direct vent and continuous), I think you do see a payback over a short time. Usually if you already have the hole in the wall, instal becomes a breeze.

Then again, if it was a gravity vent system, for the extra $ you could end up paying for a retrofit, well, then the decesion becomes harder.

I'm also assuming one continuous water heater will meet your needs.
