Be very careful when dealing with propane as it will really mess you up. My father in law and all of his employees used special rubber coated gloves when dealing with it.
If I didn't know anything about the valves, which I don't, I would just leave them alone. Even if someone on here tells you how to access your fuel, you may run the risk of injury.
Some battles are just not worth fighting, but that's just me.
