Propane shortage

FWIW...3 weeks ago I had a 20# grill bottle filled at a (rural) local store...$18...
My b.i.l. gave me a rib about it saying he pays $14...I just got a message from him saying he had just paid $19+ that the shortage has had an effect...

A $5 increase in 3 weeks seems a bit greedy to me??

I'm surprised discussion on this thread has stopped. Does this mean prices are going down and there are no problems with availability?

Hardly the case. Rather, the news is out and the initial "shock" factor has abated. I'm convinced that the market was the newest spot for the speculators. I think they overshot the point where they could stay under the radar though. If you ever saw the movie "Office Space" when they realize their plan to capture the penny rounding differences in banking (hoping to get a few bucks) only to find that they had made a mistake and they had collected $1,000s in a single day, that's my opinion of what happened with propane.

Yeah, the new has worn off. Now everyone is hunkering down trying to figure out how they are gonna pay for it.

I am burning electric space heaters, and saving my propane for when I may need it
I do not see how the electric can be any worse than $5.39 a gallon through an REMC
