I remember a fire claim for about $2 million. The 150 gallon propane tank was about 5' from the building and sat on a wood deck. Cook came out, had a smoke and dropped the butt on the deck to put it out. He did not, it rolled off the deck and got the brush under the deck going. Fire heated the propane tank, liquid expanded, burst the disc, like it should have. Only problem was it was pointed at the building, at an open window. Nice 30' flame shooting into the wood frame building. Building was gone in 5 minutes.
So if you place the tank near any building make sure the relief disc is pointed AWAY from the building. Just in case it lets go during fire. AND do not put the tank on any wood decks.
