vlar hard hat liner?? Should I maybe thinking of a kevlar vest too?

OK, I don't have my CUT yet, but soon. I'll be in AZ, and have already invested in some Gempler's products, including hats and shirts that are rated at SPF 40. Sun protection seems to be my best strategy out therel

I like Carhart stuff.

They're heavy canvas and protect you from thorns and such quite well.

I normally wear Carhart bib overalls and a shirt. If cooler, I've two (one long, the other waist length) Carhart jackets.

Striped bib's, straw hat, long sleeved shirt, lace up boots, unless it's hot then short sleeved shirt; or bitter cold; then all I can find to put on!!!!! And a wool cap!!!!!

Bib overalls, T-shirt or long sleaved cotton shirt, depending on work conditions, long socks, hiking boots or heavier, hearing protection, eye protection and bug spray(deep woods off or cutter's in a pump spray). Usually a baseball hat under the hearing protection if it is cool. My straw hat just doesn't fit with the hearing protection. My canopy does an excellent job of keeping sun and light rain off of me.

Have any of you seen the combinaiton sun screen/bug spray? I have some for my kids and it appears to work well. Really, any bug spray with a good dose of DEET seems to work well around here.

Not the best shot of me, but this is what I typically wear in the summer months -- normally when I run the tractor I have on gloves, my sunglasses and ear plugs.

As it gets cooler, I usually have on jeans and a flannel shirt.

If I'm just going out to move something with the FEL I don't worry too much about the proper attire. If I know I'm going to be doing more than one simple task I go with long pants (usually jeans) even in summer, heavy socks and good shoes and a t-shirt in summer. Even then I'll have a long sleeve shirt and gloves with me in case I decide to go into the brush. I'm trying to use hearing protection on a regular basis but haven't totally gotten into the habit yet.

While this isn't "attire," I always make sure I have a charged cell phone on me 'just in case' the unforeseen happens and I need it.

Bibbed overalls with lots of pockets to hold the 3 point pins and a wrench to adjust the top link, boots, Oakley M-Frames to protect the eyes (polycarbonite), leather gloves and, of course, a "Tractor-By-Net" ball cap.

So far it seems summer attire is dominant. How about when the cold winds blow and the snow is deep?

Re: Proper Tractor Attire

The answer to proper work attire depends on the day, Monday through Saturday it is always bibs, long sleeve shirt (winter), Short (summer), boots and a straw hat.

On sunday its not an issue, you shouldnt be working that day. Church attire of your choice.
