When lowering a very heavy 3 point chipper back to the ground I try to do it smoothly to avoid unnecessary strain or wear on the tractor, but it is difficult to prevent a bit of bouncing unless I just slam the lever forward and let the chipper drop.
Is there a right or better way to lower heavy 3 point implements so as to protect the tractor? Can the hydraulics and mechanicals that move the arms break if not used correctly? Should the tractor be running when the arms are lowered?
Thanks for any advice.
