Come to think of it maybe why my forested Washington spot is so tranquil… no cell service and no tv signal… radio limited…

Before Comcast it was a trip to town to catch up on my calls.

We completed the negotiations a few days before Katrina. After that storm took out over 200 towers, we were forgotten.

Brother being experienced in business paid for legal review and worked out the kinks like trucks using the farm home driveway and similar…

For whatever reason the expansion movement is on hold or not happening…

Maybe tower technology and locations have matured…?

Yep… taxes are significant at 30k+ and that was after he contested… home isn’t much or outbuildings but a little country just across the city limits…
I didn't go past this on page 2, but the tower value.... is that going to the real estate value and if so, who's paying it?
I know that there are tower lawyers who will know the potential "traps" and probably rental value including being involved with each additional tower occupant in the future.
They probably won't allow your lawyer to provide the lease agreement, but he'll have a say in it.
I'd love to have a similar offer.

1) ATT is in a lot of trouble financially
2) T-Mobile and Verizon are going heavy into Satellite.
Many newer regular phones can use satellite now (of course not the ones we own...).

ATT business has been laying off so fast that our company rep changes every few months.
We used to do millions in business with them, not so much anymore.

Cell Towers deemed needed for public safety receive special treatment regarding property taxes.

This is how it was explained to me but any income received is taxable.

I’ve never spoken to the same ATT rep twice and we have one to handle all hospital business enterprise wide.

Years ago with deregulation several friends were offered buyout packages and accepted… each was invited back within a year as a contract employee because too much institutional knowledge left when the career guys left.

One of my close friends said it was the best 3 years ever working for the company…

Not much… the tower would be well back on a knoll on the California farm’s back 65 acre plot.

In Washington State we have no cell service at my location… the residents fight it tooth and nail… cost me 15k to bring in Comcast. Satellite was never ending battle cutting trees every couple of years to maintain signal.

Several cell providers offered Thurston county big money to attach to the rural fire department radio tower and still didn’t happen…
No cell service at my house either. Fortunately, they ran fiber up my road a few years ago, so 1GB FIOS. The cell phones work VOIP.

Was it costly to bring to the house?

The 15k was what I paid because per county it now had to be underground.

Contractor did a phenomenal good job…

Fiber was buried down our road a couple years ago. It was then buried about 400 ft. to the house. There was no charge by our local electric co-op/phone company.

I have a friend with a cell tower on her property. They wanted to buy her out of her lease. They offered her $75K. She hired someone to negotiate for her. Closed at $750K. Their pricing is negotiable.

I would never allow one on my property, I would rather sell a parcel next to the road for a someone to build a house if I was in a hard spot. Hold out for fiber optic, it is superior in every way and it doesn't hurt your health. We moved to this county specifically because there is fiber optic all over the county.

I’d kill for fiber. We’ve been long forgotten. Too many trees to the north so no Starlink either.

I came home one day and there was a utility box along the side of my front fence and a business card in my mailbox saying that fiber was available. My wife called and made an appointment the next day. Within a week they laid the fiber land across the top off our pasture to the house and hooked it up. A week later they came back and buried it. Distance was about 800 feet and the cost for the install was $100. Cost is $76 a month for super fast internet, no buffering when watching shows online and we set up a Bridge to my Mom's house so she can use it too!!!

With Satellite I was spending thousands on tree removal every couple of years.

I had offered the home as a rental and without cell or Internet 98% of those interested dropped out.

I spent the money for Internet and the renter I ended up renting to didn’t want it… go figure.

No trenching… it was all bored with 3 boxes along the way… just like work I had seen along the State Highway.

Do you have a cell plan with either the company that ran the fiber or another cellular provider, or do you only have a working telephone near WiFi routers?

Cell service has been through US Cellular, which has the best rural service. I don't buy data from them because it's all wifi at home.

Ok. I was just trying to figure out where you got your SIM card and telephone # from, if you paid nothing for cell service

I may change to one of the discount services. US Cellular was just bought by T-Mobile.
