Just saw a neat idea and don't remember reading it here. Melt bowl wax ring on nuts and bolts for rust prevention and easy removal later. Got that from an engineer.

I'd ask a plumber...
And it may be a trick. Toilet bolts are usually brass.

I got this from a plumber: Never bite your fingernails..

There'a an anti-seize compound that they have for lug-nuts. Don't know if it would work on LBrown, though...

For metal-to-metal I like Permatex 80078 Anti-Seize compound. It's messy as all get out if you get it on you or your gloves, but it sticks like crazy and won't wash off. Get the bottle with the brush-in-the-lid. It coats threads really well.

I do use wax, too. I carry a candle in my woodworking toolbox for whenever I need to drive a screw into a drilled hole. Just rub the threads against the candle to apply. Reduces the twisting effort to drive it in and also helps prevent buggered slots if it ever needs removing.

I work in aerospace industry, we often apply a dab of silicone to the end of bolts after installation to work as a cheap lock nut in high vibration areas.

Much easier than drilling and tie wire, but yet comes right off with impact.

Stockholm Tar , a hundred years later the nuts and bolts will still undo easily .

Well, I, for one, was looking for a reason to go to Stockholm anyway... Wouldn't mind remindin' me when I get there what I went for, would'ja mate?

I use the Never-Seize that looks like silver grease. It even works in high temperature applications like exhaust manifolds. Oh, you can get it here in the USA without going overseas. ;)

Stockholm Tar = Pine Tar

No need for international air travel, try a local sporting goods store. But I'll STICK with Never-Seize.
