Be careful which tractors you are pricing. Yeah there are Kubotas and NH's that can be had for the price of a Montana but they are usually the bare bones models, once you step up to their premier lineup they are almost always more expensive.

The price that I got was comparable to a bare bones Deere or Kubota of lower horsepower. I got the whole package - R4944HST, loader, Howse 6' rotary cutter, Kioti 6' finish mower (it's what he had on the lot in 6'), 6' box blade, and 18' 7000lb trailer - for about $25k. For that same $25k, the local Deere dealer could give me a bare bones 3000 series 32HP (I forget the exact model number) HST with loader, no attachments, no rear remotes, no trailer. I think I got a pretty good deal on what has, so far, proven to be an excellent tractor.
