Yeah I suppose your right! I took the liberty to read through some other threads he has post in the past and found him to be a bit irate with others for no apparent reason other than them posting things he doesn't agree with, so i guess its just in his nature to be this way;) I have learned :D
Thanks clemsonfor for bringing me back down to Earth,
Happy Holidays all,
now I'll kindly find my way to the exit-------------->:D

I like how this forum always gets hijacked into another subject.

But LMTC knows his stuff about tractors and should be respected for his knowledge, time and expertise he spends here helping everyone who asks a question.

Its like my job as an auto appraiser when the owner of the car tells me how to write an estimate on his car. After 25 years writing estimates on cars and doing bodywork for 10 years and still doing my own projects, I really don't want you to tell me how to do my job.

Just some food for thought!
I don't know LMTC or ever spoke to him either.

I have a meter on the left side of the dash that says 532.3.
My neighbor had it for about 10 years using it sparingly so could these be the real hours ? 1984 model.

I was not aware the YM2000 was still being manufactured in 1984? I thought it was more like 1977.

1979 was the last year for the red 2000 per all our suppliers. But you will learn not to correct misinformation here, lest you be accused of attacking others (as I have been for pointing out misinformation in this thread).

Well, for the record I choose to be set straight if I give wrong info, which I probably have a time or two, however I don't think its the fact of being corrected that gets people upset, its more so about how its done...LMTC is a book full of knowledge and anyone that has been using this forum for any substantial amount of time would know Wayne is rather blunt and to the point most of the time...some can admire that trait while others take offense, that's the difference in southerners and northerners. As I browse Craigslist daily and see a Yanmar being misrepresented I usually take the opportunity to correct these people, most don't like it, but hey, I call them like I see it.

just my .02 cents

Hey Chuck,
you getting anywhere with your tractor? another thing I might add to the suggestions,.... if water has stood in the cylinder for very long, the rings may have come rusted to the walls, I klnow diesel fuel has oil in it and for the most part would keep the cylinders walls well lubricated, but depending how long this tractor has set up? I still would suggest to try and get some pen oil down into these cylinders and let it sit for a couple of day before trying to start the engine over, if you haven't already done so? I used to buy car engines that had sit for some time, and I knew not to try turning over the engine because it could snap a ring, so first I would pull the plugs and poor a little pen oil to soak in around the rings, even after doing this I would wrench the crank back-n-forth little at a time until I felt like it could be turn over with no risk of breaking a ring, I would then drain a couple quarts of the oil add back some cheap fresh oil run it for a little while and then change all the oil and filter and hope for the best.. note: these are gas car engines I'm talking about...
i have not experience what you are dealing with on a tractor engines, others here my have some better tips,;) i do not hope this to be bad information, but if it is I'm sure I'll get a spanking for it :D

You are quite correct, it would have been taken more lightly had I been told something like, ( I believe you are thinking of the VN tractors ) not the sarcastic comment that had been made, and really I can deal with being corrected, after all I am here to learn more so than to help, But I somehow feel a bit greedy by taking all this information and not giving anything back in return......... perhaps I'll just sit on the sidelines and learn a bit more rather then play the game..
Happy Holidays to all, and yes even to you LMTC :D
