Hey Chuck,
you getting anywhere with your tractor? another thing I might add to the suggestions,.... if water has stood in the cylinder for very long, the rings may have come rusted to the walls, I klnow diesel fuel has oil in it and for the most part would keep the cylinders walls well lubricated, but depending how long this tractor has set up? I still would suggest to try and get some pen oil down into these cylinders and let it sit for a couple of day before trying to start the engine over, if you haven't already done so? I used to buy car engines that had sit for some time, and I knew not to try turning over the engine because it could snap a ring, so first I would pull the plugs and poor a little pen oil to soak in around the rings, even after doing this I would wrench the crank back-n-forth little at a time until I felt like it could be turn over with no risk of breaking a ring, I would then drain a couple quarts of the oil add back some cheap fresh oil run it for a little while and then change all the oil and filter and hope for the best.. note: these are gas car engines I'm talking about...
i have not experience what you are dealing with on a tractor engines, others here my have some better tips,

i do not hope this to be bad information, but if it is I'm sure I'll get a spanking for it
Well, for the record I choose to be set straight if I give wrong info, which I probably have a time or two, however I don't think its the fact of being corrected that gets people upset, its more so about how its done..
just my .02 cents
You are quite correct, it would have been taken more lightly had I been told something like, ( I believe you are thinking of the VN tractors ) not the sarcastic comment that had been made, and really I can deal with being corrected, after all I am here to learn more so than to help, But I somehow feel a bit greedy by taking all this information and not giving anything back in return......... perhaps I'll just sit on the sidelines and learn a bit more rather then play the game..
Happy Holidays to all, and yes even to you LMTC
