It's a dog show favorite, but I just don't get it. All the breeders, owners and professional handlers think its the best movie ever. After Kami won, that's what they all got together and watched. Some of them have seen it a dozen times and they still laugh. I saw it once and wish I hadn't.

I have probably seen it 5-6 times and still find new subtleties to laugh about. I suspect for the the dog show crowd, it some much needed self-deprecation and comic relief.

Here is one of the awards pictures from Kami's four Major wins that made her an AKC Champion. Her official name now has CH in front of it, and because of those Major wins, she is now ranked number 18 in the nation for all Akita's and if you just counted the female Akita's, she is the number 6 female Akita in the nation as of today.

What's even more amazing is that she beat the number 9 Akita in the nation, who also happens to be the Number 1 female Akita in the nation all four times to win those Major's!!!!!

And she was 9 months old in this picture when she wan, and the number 1 female Akita is five years old!!!!

We had no idea and just found out about this from friends posting it on FB. We're both very excited by her success and optimistic of what the future holds for her.

She is blowing her coat and about to go into heat, so we've been on a waiting period before we can show her again. Our newer puppy is a male that was born Feb 2nd and they play together non stop. It's rough play, with lots of running and biting each others faces, which they seem to enjoy. The other two dogs mostly ignore them, or get out of their way. Sometimes they all join in, but they don't last very long. The puppies have endless energy.

Kami weighs 70 pounds and is 11 months old. She eats non stop, but is skin and bones compared to the others. Matsu is 3 1/2 months old and weighs 45.2 pounds. He is less then half her height, but much thicker then she is. Karen is off work for the summer and is feeding them eggs during the day. In one setting, Kami ate a full dozen scrambled eggs!!!!
