PT-425 Currently Unavailable?

Yikes, Moss Road spent our money on a PT-425 (see This Link), and now I'm reading posts that say they are not currently available. The lady at PT didn't mention anything about this when I talked to her last week.

Anyone have any details on this?

hello i spoke to the young lady at pt couple of weeks back and she stated then that the next production run for the 425 would be this month / june later part so you may want to call and have her put you on the wish list as well thats what i did anyhows but still trying to have them or you folks help me locate someone close to atlanta so i can see this in the red clay of georgia ...................and to all a goodnight

I know what you mean. That Georgia clay extends up here into the Tennessee Valley too. It's got more stick than a mouthful of peanut butter.

We're interested in the PT for cutting, so its digging capabilities are not real important. But I am a little concerned about those turf tires.

Yeah, that would be a concern, especialy in a tree farm with sticks and stuff all over the place. I developed a few pin hole leaks in my turfs after brush hogging in very heavy stuff. I used the grean SLIME( one bottle in each front tire) and all was well. It sealed the leaks and no more have developed. I still have two bottles of the stuff, but have never put it in the rear tires. Several people have the bar tread tires and they like them very much. Tire selection is a very personal thing and there have been some pretty lively discussions all over TBN on this issue. My turfs work fine in most situations, but I think bars would be better suited for my brush hogging and some dirt work where I notice some tire spin. Hey, maybe I'll buy another set of tires and rims some day, or chains, if it becomes a problem, but so far I've been able to use the turfs satisfactorily. I have plugged the turfs in mud. They are useless in mud. I CAN testify to that! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've also had the turfs pack with mud and spin, but even when my 1845 has sunk to the belly pan in mud, I have been able to get out merely by cranking the steering back and forth with the wheels turning until it moved. I have no idea if bars would have been better, but absent obstacles (trees, banks, etc.) the turfs have worked.
I assumed the bars were more puncture resistant, but I've had no more problem than Sedgewood has with his bar treads, and he reports fairly fast wear of the bars.
I started skeptical and have become a believer in turfs. But, what I'd really like on a spare set is the Michelins that Mark Chalkley likes. (Search in recent posts should hit them.)

Yeah. I like my turfs as well. Just when I was sitting there on flat ground with a bucket of dirt and looking around while the tires spun, I thought, "Man, I hope no one sees me sitting here stuck on flat ground in this little bitty mud hole." I got out with the assistance of the bucket, but I think the bar tread would have gotten out pretty easily. Oh well. For overall use, I still like the turfs. And they work pretty good in snow on a paved drive too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bubenberg plows snow commercially with his and swears by the turf treads. He claims they're better in snow not only on the PT but on his Kubota CUT.

Almost forgot -- in the meantime, we have to decide on tires. Can anyone point me to a pic of the bar tread that is offered as an option? I haven't been able to find one by poking around.
