Re: PT-425 Won\'t start less than 8 hours

i HAVE A PT 425 AND LOVE IT. I'M LEARNING NEW TRICKS EVERY DAY ON THIS FORUM. I FOUND OUT MY CLICKING WHEN i DRIVE AND TURN WAS DO TO A NOT FULLY DISENGAGED BRAKE. i LEARNED THAT I HAVE A LOW LEFT TIRE EVERY MORNING BECAUSE I THINK I MAY HAVE A VALVE STEM PROBLEM OR GRASS IN BETWEEN MY TIRE SEED. I'D BE MORE INTERESTED IN WHAT I NEED TO DO TO REVERSE MY STUMP GRINDER BLADE. DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE HYDRAULICS? i CAN REVERSE THE BLADE. I ALSO WANT TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY GOOD TRICKS FOR THE FINISH MOWER CASTER WHEELS. THEY KEEP COMING OFF THE RIM AND DEFLATING. PAIN IN THE ****. GREAT FORUM YOU ALL AND IT HELPS SO MUCH.

Re: PT-425 Won\'t start less than 8 hours

The answer to the left front tire valve stem problem is to replace it with a rubber plug that doesn't protrude so far and catch so much of the grass that gets wound around the wheel. I have already had the problem too. First I tried having the valve stem reversed so that it sticks into the wheel, but it blew off after a few minutes mowing. (This might actually work Ok if the tire isn't overinflated. I think the tire store put about 30 lbs of air in it, and I was in a hurry to get it back on and get more mowing done before dark, so I didn't adjust it.) Oddly enough when I brought this problem up to Terry, he had never heard of it before.

The only real solution to the caster wheel problem seems to be replacing them with solid rubber tires. $47 from PT, but I am sure you can find them cheaper. Glad to hear that your starting problem was nothing serious.
