PT attachments on other machines?

I saw a guy the other day buying gas with a "Ramrod" mini skid steer on a trailor with a PT trencher, PT ditch filler, and PT planter head with augers. I inquired as to why he bought PT attachments and welded on adapters to fit the Ramrod, he stated he could get all three and adapt them for less money than a Ramrod trencher! He said they worked fine.

Has anyone noticed PT attachments on other equipment?

I have not seen anyone do this, but I am making an adapter plate to fit the attachments from my 1430 and 2445 to my Polaris ASL 300 track loader. Some of the PT attachments are very reasonable in price and can be beefed up if necessary with minimal effort.

I have seen a Man pick-up in Gremany have pto it was use as a pick-up to drive on the street with about a 6 ft bed you would remove the middle part of the bed in the back there was your pto and 3 point hitch. all the side would fold down like any tail gate. it had some type of high and low range. I worked on a greman farm for 2 week and drove this man/tractor it was some kind of partnership the army had with the gremans I had a good time it was about 1987. The truck/tractor was 4x4 had ac, radio, and etc. I use it to make wind rows but they did not bale the hay, they put it in big piles and had big trap over them. the farm I was on still use the old milk jug the truck would pick the about 5 gal can up after each milking. But I have not seen any truck in the US like that look like someone would of made one two for one so a fram would buy one machine to do it all. There where some with back hoe and loaders too.

Sounds like you're talking about the Mercedes UniMog. I saw those to when I was in Stugart the city was using one with a chiper attached to the 3pt and blowing the chips into a covered bed. Net trucks, er tractors or military vechicles.

Unimog is used widely in mountainous areas for farming, but you got to take under consideration, these farmers are subsidized by the governments to keep some land open. In Switzerland you can buy a Jeep, Unimog or a Motorcycle from the Army (NEW) as a recruit but have to bring it for ten years to a three week military service in good condition. i did the same thing in the cavalry , i bought my first horse from the remount depot.

Yes they are pretty close to what I rember. The farm I was on took better care of his tractor then must do there cars. He wash and clean it up every day after work would be out there at 9m at night hard working gent like working for him have two beer at lunch everyday 1 at night. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
