I put solid wheels on my brush hog and really like them. My mower tires have gone flat a few times. My plow goes flat often. I still think I would like the air tires for the mower. I tried the solids on it, but get some scuffs. Suggestion has been made to tube the little buggers, so I might attempt that if it becomes too much of a pain in the neck. I've been talking about doing this so long, I think I just like to hear myself whine about it! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I had foam filled tires from Power Trac on the back of my 72" rough cut mower. They tended to take a crooked set if parked on uneven surfaces, and ultimately twisted themselves off the wheels.

Mine did the same thing. Here's my solution. I haven't used it yet so the jury is still out.

My busted minihoe went off to visit the smoke wrench today,

I understand PT has been testing a solid wheel to replace this size tire in the future on all except the small 42, 48, and 60 light mowers. We have foam filled all except the 42" mower caster. Money well spent!

I never got the wheels for my snow blade, I have the rubber lip on it to do snow removal. I don't have any trouble removing snow from my driveway with the blade and rubber lip. Since you have the tires on yours do you think they help? The tires looked to me as thoughthey would be more trouble than they were worth.

You're probably right. I took the wheels off when one was flat, and had no trouble. There is a little difference in the technique, but with the rubber lip and the blade in float, it works fine without the wheels.
Sedgewood replaced his wheels with pucks set closer to the blade. Results, John? (You probably already posted them, but I'm too lazy this nice spring day, to do a search.)
