PT uses on a building project.

I was out working on the new shop building this weekend. My wife came by to check on my progress and found me moving an old power pole to the burn pile with my 425. She remarked that the PT was one of the best purchases we'd ever made and I had to agree with her. We sat down and started trying to think of all the things I'd done with it on just this project. I thought it might interest some of you that are shopping for or trying to convince SWMBO that you need a PT. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This list only concerns this project which consists of the construction of a 28'x40' shop and a room addition to the house.

1. Mow weeds and grass to facilitate layout for foundation. - 48" brush mower.
2. Demolish part of old corral and chicken house to make way for shop. - pallet forks & bucket
3. Haul demolition debris and accumulated junk to burnpile. - LMB & homemade brush forks
4. Stir giant burnpile until it was gone. - brush forks
5. Backfill around shop and addition foundations. - LMB & boxscraper
6. Move various building materials around jobsite. - LMB, pallet forks & brush forks
7. Dig up and cap off yard hydrant. - Lackender hoe & LMB
8. Move tools to jobsite from barn each day. - pallet forks & brush forks
9. Spread 48 yards of base rock between shop and barn. - LMB & boxscraper
10. Used the PT with a bucket full of gravel as a dead weight to hold down 2x6's that our wall jacks were fastened to keep from drilling holes in my new concrete floor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
11. I'll be trenching for power and water lines next week. - friend's trencher
12. I'll be spreading 24 yds. of gravel. - LMB & boxscraper
13. Final grading and landscaping. - LMB & boxscraper
14. I'll be using the PT as a forklift in the completed shop.

I take it you did not dig the footing with the PT.

Bob, No I didn't dig the footings . The shop sits up against a slope and the room addition has a 4' deep crawl space, so there was quite a bit of dirt to move. I figured a full sized backhoe was better suited to this job.
