Instead of spending $500.00 plus on a new Deutz alternator imported from germany, I decided to retrofit a "one wire" chev. unit to the contraption.
I used a ford 300 six cyclinder alternator bracket for the lower and made the upper bracket. I removed the Deutz idler pulley, and used the factory bolts for the lower bracket. I had to modify the hood a little for this set up.
