LED upgrade will probably be in my near future!

++1 on the front of the ROPS lights location. I replaced the standard light switch with a two way and added the ROPS mounted LEDs as the s cond circuit. They are pretty much the only lights that I routinely use.

All the best,

Peter

Might I add a second set on the back of the ROPS. Hanging underneath. The lights on the body are OK position but hanging a light under the rops is ideal IMO. I used black silicone calk to cover the wires. SO I ran them up the inside of the ROPS (the wires) and then laid a HUGE bead of calk over the wire, then laid some papertape over that to hold it all together. Papertape breathes enough to let the calk dry out a bit.

And while you are at it, mount the new lights on the front edge of the ROPS. They lights are almost useless mounted where they are, since any implement you have blocks the light.

Agree 100%. I would not recommend switching to Halogen lights. Though Halogens are brighter than the stock incandescents, they draw similar amounts of current. LEDs will produce far more light for the same amount of current (amperage) and are about the same $$ as halogens.

On my old 425 I mounted two additional incandescents under the ROPS. On this new-to-me old 1430, I removed my factory lights on the dashboard and installed an LED light bar under the ROPS.

Originally, I bought two exact replacement bulbs from Tractor Supply (they're called utility lights, or something like that) and mounted them under my ROPS. So I had 4 lights out front. Then, as they slowly went out over the years, I moved the good ones up under the ROPS and never replaced the original factory ones. Finally, I purchased two LED lights, put them under the ROPS and ditched all of the incandescents completely. I have a 3rd one under the rear of the ROPS, but haven't had the need to hook it up yet.
