I think if you went to the rental place and got the yellow dimensions (and hole diameter), you could work backwards from this.

When ken and I bought a number of third party implements and had to weld on the adapters, we found out quickly we needed the addition of a roughly 10 degree wedge between the adapter and the implement to get the angles (dump / tilt) to work right.

Thanks, I thought I had read something like that somewhere. Where your attachments for a full size skid steer? Any idea if the mini's are the same angle as the full size skid steer?

I believe that different attachments have different angles. The wood chipper that I adapted needed something closer to thirty degrees.

It all depends on how far above and below level your attachment needs to go. Some attachments like 4n1 buckets and augers spend a lot of time at the extremes, and a few degrees can make a big difference in the utility.

All the best,

Peter

How do the PT Dimensions compare to the Toro Dimensions?

I don't know why that guy gets on and off the PT180 to work the bucket locks, maybe it is a safety thing. I just raise up the bucket and stand up, the bucket gets close enough to just reach forward to unlock it, quick too.

I've done that with my hydraulic hoses on my 60" mower on the 425. Didn't even have to take off the seat belt.

Which illustrates a safety issue... if you hit something hard going forward, even if belted in, the seat can tip full-forward and put the operator over the steering wheel real fast. If you have the FEL arms fully raised, it's possible to kiss the roll-over linkage.

The PT180 doesn't have the Z bar bucket linkage so as you raise the bucket the angle stays the same in relation to the loader arms, and tips back the higher you go. If you have a heaping bucket it will spill back over the operator if you don't uncurl the bucket as you raise. I thought that was pretty dangerous, especially with no ROPS to block rolling things like logs.

The 425 quick attach plate doesn't move as you raise and lower either. So if you have a heaping load of dirt in the bucket and it's curled all the way back, if you lift up too high, too fast, you can fling dirt on your lap as well. It's one of the reasons I added a backstop to my forks... I could fling a log up over the arms and onto myself. the hydraulics are a little too strong and too snappy at the end of the movement. Just have to remember that when operating. Quirks of the machine.
