Tim,
1550 was alot, but I couldn't find a better deal that I was comfortable with. I got everything needed for now, maybe I should have got an extra QA plate, but, I'll get one later if needed. The costs run up quick and you gotta draw the line somewhere.

The small stuff that can ship UPS isn't a big deal. I just got a quick atach plate and the towing hitch shipped to me for $30.

As far as shipping goes, it is just the cost of doing business. Nobody else sells a comparable tractor; if you want one then you have to pay shipping and that is all there is to it. Those of us on the East Coast at least have the option of driving to the factory (the price of gas and the sales tax fee pretty more then balanced out the price of shipping, so it really wasn't worth it for me).

All,
Thanks again for all the advice. My tractor arrived with all attachments. Everything seems to be in order. There was only .7 hours on the meter when I picked it up. It was running on fumes. I put some gas in it and loaded the lmb, hoe, forks, and boom in the bed of my Ranger. The 4n1, mower and tractor barely fit in the 12' uhaul flatbed trailer I rented. The truck worked pretty hard getting everything home, but she made it. Hoping for the best with this one. Pics when I get around to it.

Now you begin playing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Don't forget to update your profile. Be sure to check everything. nuts, bolts. pins, grease fittings, tire pressure, hydraulic leaks, etc.

Don't take that too lightly. After using your PT the first few times make sure you take a look in the engine compartment for leaks. Look at the bottom of the tub for fluid. That's how I first found mine. Eventually traced it to a single slightly loose hose. Also watch your grease points, especially on the implements. My 4n1 looked like it hadn't been greased at all. In fact, only the mini hoe looked like it was lubed properly.

Start building up your supplies. Find SuperLube spray. You'll be using it a lot. Orde replacement air and oil filters. I just ordered some online at www.jackssmallengines.com. Download the parts manual for your engine from Robin. Etc. Oh, and don't forget to whack your skull on the side of the canopy a few times--it's part of the initiation. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, got my 425 last Tuesday and as of yesterday I have my first 10 hours on it! I have used the LMB, the stump grinder, the forks, the mini hoe and the 60" finish mower......I am very impressed with the performance of this machine! I guess it is time to do my 10 hour maintenance now. The only problem I can see so far is the downward direction of the exhaust, it tends to burn the grass if you set in one spot to long and creates a dust cloud in the woods while grinding stumps. Has anyone changed the exhaust direction to straight out the back?
