Folks, I now have a pto operated air compressor (see attachment) which is used to inflate the tire. No, not only to inflate the tire, but also can be used to paint the house/wall/etc as this pto air compressor is different than the similars which can't be used for painting the wall. I will have another one casted & machined for a friend. Anybody else wants? Raise your finger then.

Interesting... What are the specs? CFM? Max PSI?

Too bad it doesn't have a holding tank.. though i guess you could always plumb one of those CH 10 gallon tanks inline for 'storage' capacity.

About 4-5 CFM and 120 psi. Mounted onto PTO at 540 RPM.

Little too small for my needs. I sometimes do sand blasting and am limited by my CFM/storage capacity. It works great for about 30-45 seconds then my electric compressor falls behind the demand and the blast gun looses efficiency with the pressure drop. I had thought a higher volume compressor plumbed into my air system, making use of the 20+ PTO HP available on my tractor might be handy. It would sure make my infrequent sandblasting needs much quicker evolutions.

Thanks for the info.

Of course, its capacity is small, especially for sand blasting which requires much more CFM. This PTO compressor is just for inflating the tires and for some paint works. You can install a high capacity air compressor (to your tractor) which is derived by a flywheel of your tractor. What's your tractor brake system? hydraulic or pneumatic? However, sand blasting is a closed area work and the best is to use electric air compressor.

Brakes are Mechanical on my tractor and I would run a hose to plumb any tractor compressed air into my existing air system. I would also want the running tractor a ways away from any blasting operations.

It is not in seriel production. I have its cast tooling made and casted & machined one only. Cost for one unit was of course high. I have not done a cost analysis for seriel production, but my initial guess for the price is it won't be more than $50-60.
