Well, have had my BX24 for about two weeks now. Dug some stumps, moved logs, pushed up brush for burning and today I got into mowing. I have a Land Pride 48" mower. Part way into the mowing I noticed that when I had to stop and move something, the tractor shut off when I got up. I had disengaged the PTO and did not think that should happen. Then starting the tractor became troublesome. I have noticed that I now have to jiggle the PTO clutch to get the tractor to start. So is this just an adjustment or a defective switch or something.
Thanks in advance for your insight.

Cheers JT

JT-

I think you're on the right track regarding "switch adjustmnent". In addition to the obvious seat and PTO "neutral" switches - don't forget the HST pedal "centered" (neutral) switches as the "most likely" candidates.

A quick look at my B7610 "Work Shop Manual" - shows the following safety switches:
a) Clutch Pedal Switch
b) Rear PTO Switch
c) Mid PTO Switch
d) Reverse Seat Switch
e) Seat Switch
f) Main Gear Switch (HST pedal)

For my B7610 - the OPC (Operator Presense Controller - I didn't get that until I read thru the WSM /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) looks at the inputs of b, c, d, e and f switches - and then the START signal has to pass through the a (clutch) switch on the way to the starter.

I remember the first time I had accidentally bumped the PTO lever while getting On/Off my CUT - and then trying to start it again.....nothing! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif My heart skipped a beat before I remembered to re-check everything - darn PTO lever!

Hope that helps!

Dan, thanks for the help. I do believe it was that the HST pedal was not going to center. I checked it out and blew out the dust, seem to work fine all day today.
