PTO Chain?

When I first started using PTO powered equipment the shield was metal and rather smooth with a bell on each end. Shield spun with the shaft, seemed like a good system to me (also easier to grease) Then they went to plastic shields that spun, now apparently that is too dangerous so they have to make a plastic shield that doesn't spin with the chains attached. I just use the chain as something to hold the PTO shaft up when I park the implement, I never connect it to the shield when in use.

Seatbelt on, ROPS up and all safety guards properly installed. This is the only way to operate.

Oh dear ... Ill just stay inside where its safe.
