Now, I've gone through the manual to confirm the type of oil I'm supposed to use, and it says cub cadet brand 10w-40 (i believe, I'll dbl check) rating SL or SG (or higher?). Can I use conventional automotive motor oil as it tends to be rated better than this? )</font>
I used the same automotive oil that I used in my cars for 26 years in my CC 1450 (usually Quaker State 5W-30) and am using it now in my 3235. When I had to replace the oil pan on the 1450, due to wear from missing mounting bolts, the engine was spotless inside with 800-900 hours.
