Chipper pto driven wood chippers

I chip a lot of eastern white pine which is about as soft as you can get. It feeds and chips easier than anything else I have. The branches tend to be long and w/o many forks that won't just collapse as the chipper pulls them in. I have never had a problem with the pitch but they do have a lot of it.

Valbys are very high quality chippers...pretty much built for commercial use.
Prices on both of those units are very reasonable and, if you want a chipper, I wouldn't hesitate.

Yes...hearing, eye, head and face protection are important. I wear forester's helmet when I'm operating the chipper. The mesh face shield has prevented few chunks from hitting me.

Chippers, esp small ones, come up for sale "lightly used" quite frequently around here. The little ones require a lot of work per stick and have low size capacity. People don't think about that when they buy one, just about getting rid of brush and having chips.
Bigger ones do much more with much less effort, esp with power feed setups. I think bigger is better if you can swing it. Valby makes good equipment.

If I could 'swing' it, I'd have a Vermeer or a Morbark. I run a lot of knives for both. Nice commercial machines with a nice price tag too.
