At a minimum early bearing failure.

This is an EXPENSIVE reality that I wouldn't want to take a chance on.

Remove the guard!

+1 on the implement shaft has to be extended plenty enough so it can’t bottom out raising up OR Crossing ditches.
I got a buddy that broke his tractor PTO shaft off from this

Take guard off tractor. Lube all your pro shafts so they work easy. I've dug basements and septic tanks. I've built 185 ft drilling rigs. Most all in between. I would not extend the tractor side.
