Generator PTO generator mounting

I recently purchased a Northern Tool 7800 watt PTO generator. In the manual, they only talk about mounting it on a cement pad or on a PTO generator trailer. I would like to make a 3 point hitch frame and hook up with my top link and lift arms when needed. That way I can lift it to the right height to keep the PTO shaft straight and also move it to a work site easily. Has anyone done it this way? Or, can you think of any reasons why I shouldn't? If your search some PTO generator threads, you will see lots of people have mounted them that way on 3HP "carryalls"

Bob, I made my own carry-all type lift for my Northern 12KW generator. Check out the photo's in this posting 'Adjusting voltage on 3PT generator?' on this thread. It's fairly easy to attach, plus by removing 4 bolts I have a light duty for lift for other uses. Make sure you provide some sort of cover for the generator if it rains. Doug

thanks for the replies. I looked at your pictures. Nice setup. I would like to build mine something like yours. I wonder why NH doesn't describe a mount for the 3pt. Are they concerned that the lift arms don't power down and there can be some torquing of the setup? Doug, have you had any issues with your mount? Also, I have been searching and found the carryall mounts Kenny described. Thanks again

I would bolt it to a carry all. That way you would have a dual use for the carry all.

Thanks, makes good sense, but I have the raw materials and would have to buy the carryall.
