Generator PTO generator

Thanx for the info. JD makes a small one deseigned for the X series. Iam currently trying to find out if it will work with my 2210 but I really like the idea of selling my generac and getting a PTO model. Dave

Dave,
Attached is a picture of my 17 KW, trailer mounted generator. 1800 RPM brushless.

Of course, I can not leave anything as it comes. Just have to modify. Uprights are to throw a couple of saw horses & some plywood for a work table. Metal tool tray you can see at the rear & on the other side at the rear is a place for my cracker box welder. So it also becomes my portable welding shop.

Looks like a nice set up ! The delima I have is the size of omy Jr tractor. lol. I have 17 PTO hp and I figure that I need 2 pto HP per Kw not to overload the little bugger. I havent seen a smaller one yet except those for the JD X series and apparantly my dealer is just not going to get back to me with the info I need. He's a nice enough fellow but he acts like his brain is on over load 24/7 or he suffers from one of those unpleasant memory loss Abbreviations. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My JD dealer looked into the same thing for my 4300. Turned out that JD said it wouldn't work. I liked the idea of the 3pt hitch, but they said it just wasn't rated for this much power. I don't know what the 2210 is, exactly, so maybe it will work fine with yours.

I agree with most of the earlier posts, the generator tends to tie up your tractor when needed most? I built a 12 ft portable hunting/fishing/camping trailer last week shown below and was very suprised that I could run the 5200 BTU Air Conditioner,Small refrigerator,inside and outside light and the Mr Coffe all at the same time with the little Coleman Powermate with 3750 Surge Capacity. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the 6 HP Briggs powered unit on our first camping trip to the river.--Ken Sweet

Thanks--I did have the porch in the original plans and because of some rough places we go into, I decided to leave it off--We stayed in the air conditioning or in the water until the sun went down then went outside--our 10 year old grand daughter and her friend got thier first experience baiting and running a trot line--They both had a blast--I got to sight in my 50 Cal muzzle loader and the wife shot some clay pigeons, getting in some practice for upcoming turkey season--Ken Sweet
