PTO hard to engage and grinding

John Deere 870 the PTO is becoming gradually harder to engage. Is there an adjustment?...Does the clutch adjustment rod have something to do with it? Thanks

If you have a dual stage clutch, it's probably a clutch adjustment.

Yes Roy, its dual clutch. I did find the nut adjustment on a threaded rod where it goes into the clutch area...I'll try adjusting that. The tractor has over 2,000 hrs and I've never adjusted this area since new in 94' thanks.
