PTO Leaf Blowers?

Oh! Well, I'm with you all the way on that. In fact, that's the reason I initiated this thred: I couldn't find any reasonably priced 3PH PTO blowers. I wondered if other members might know of some units I'd not heard of that work well and are priced right.

The Buffalo Turbine Cyclone PTO is the Only Turbine Style Debris blower available as a PTO Driven Blower. You can obtain the Data sheet at this link.

The Cyclone PTO has many advantages over every other PTO Blower due to its Functionality and consistent airflow in all directions. Standard style PTO Blowers will only discharge at fullcapacity from one side of the machine. If the PTO blower does have a deflector chute much of the airflow and efficianecy is lost.

Making a decision based on CFM ratings alone may not be the best way to determine a blowers effectivness due to two reasons

Can the blower operate and blow in multiple directions and will it maintain maximum efficiency when blowing from both sides?

Bufflao Turbine has been manufacturing Blowers and sprayers since 1945 and only sells through authorized sales agents. We do not list the airflow ratings and air speed ratings as we believe seeing the blower operate is the only way to know if it is right for your applications.

I worked all day and missed the trial, but my bro-in-law hooked it up to his JD 755......I think he said his PTO HP is only around 18....the agri-metal 2500 specs recommend 25 PTO HP but he said his tractor handled it no problem. Hes impressed with the unit (again) in general. Time to research dealers..!! Were in Litchfield county....

This is good to know -- thanks! I wonder if we can get one of the blower manufacturers to explain to us the significance of meeting the HP ratings. Obviously, we know that a 20HP PTO will not adequately drive a blower requiring 80 HP, but how close do we have to be? Unlike a leaf vacuum or chipper, the air drag will be consistent over time and I suspect the main limitation of not meeting the manufacturer's HP recommendation is that the blower will not quite reach its full operating speed and air flow rating. But if the user still gets enough air, the blower will work fine. I'm at the other end of the state.

I know this thread applies to pto leaf blowers but I was wondering if a backpack blower might work almost as well and have a little more utility.
I just recently purchased a Stihl BR600 Magnum and was amazed at what it was capable of doing. It is obviously not going to move as much air as a pto blower but I found it more useful. Although a pto blower might work well on flat areas I had some drainage ditches and areas around the house where a pto blower wasn't going to work. I just blew out about a 1/3 of a mile of leaf filled drainage ditches in a little over an hour. These blowers will move gravel to if your not careful. I know it will take me a little longer to do some jobs with the backpack blower than a pto blower but I can tackle more jobs with the backpack blower and for less$.
