I'm wondering what's normal here with this newer to me tractor.

Dual Clutch when fully pressed allows me to engauge the "Engine" PTO lever like you'd expect, (bush hog) takes off pretty quick after letting up on clutch.

Problem, or concern is when coming to a stop to remove an obstacle while mowing I like to disenguage the PTO, (safety habit)
With clutch pedal all the way down I try to push the PTO lever one notch forward to Neutral,
I get a gear grinding noise, I stop and don't press the lever any harder, then go through these next steps.

Throttle down, and wait for the blades to quit spinning with the clutch fully pressed down,
As you'd expect this takes time so I either stop the tractor or burry the bush hog into the grass to get the blades to stop.

Once the blades stop I can THEN move the PTO lever to neutral.

Does this sound like a lever adjustment I'm unaware of, or more a clutch issue to anyone/everyone?

Thanks.
