Agree totally and don't use grease on the telescoping part or the pto shaft. I just use WD-40. If I use grease it doesn't lake long and everything is hard to move from the dust and dirt. WD-40 isn't really enough of a lubricant but none of my shafts are going to wear out in my lifetime.Like kthompson - my M6040 came with a protective sleeve on the PTO stub. Keeps it clean and greased. Patience is the cure for difficult PTO connections.
