hi, new to forum. I have a CK20 HST which i purchased two months ago. I have been more than pleased with its power and performance. Even did the first oil and filter change yesterday.

My question is about disengaging the rear pto. When running my rotary cutter, I depress the clutch and engage the pto. Release the clutch and it smoothly begins to spin. But if I engage the clutch while the rotary cutter is spinning, i hear a grinding noise from the pto. The only way to keep it from grinding is to disengage the pto without using the clutch.

I was wondering if this is a problem or not, thanks.

It's not a problem, it's an over running clutch which in effect keeps the momentum of the turning PTO implement from pushing the tractor forward even though disengaged.
If you didn't have that, you'd need to have a dual stage clutch, one for shifting, and one for disengaging the PTO. This is done, probably, because it's cheaper than putting in a dual stage clutch, but it's much better than having the old style PTO that would continue to push the tractor until the mower wound down, engaged through the transmission.
