Well as expected, mine has become MUCH worse. It now continues to run with a dangerous amount of power after shutting off the electric pto switch. It does not matter what procedure you use to turn it off (throttling down, or not). I can now, not even move the selector for mid/rear pto after shutting off the switch, as there is still too much power going to the pto.
With no load on the pto when engaged the engine rpms drop momentarily then continue along as they should with no load. HOWEVER when the pto is "disengaged" via the switch, the engine actually loads more so than it did with "no load". This leads me to think that the fluid is in fact leaking past a small orifice, creating this "restriction" to place a load on the engine.
The only way i have to deal with this right now, is to shut the tractor off completely. At this point the pto is not engaged, however as soon as the pto switch is engaged and disengaged, the problem is still there. Looks as if a shop manual and some wrench time is in order.
